Rolando Rodriguez serves as Managing Editor and Columnist for RedBrownandBlue.com. Rolando Rodriguez is also the Producer of RedBrownandBlue.com’s nationally syndicated Spanish-language radio program, “Adelante América,” reaching the multicultural community nationwide via GLR Networks. A journalist at heart, Rolando Rodriguez has written for numerous publications, including CATALINA, a widely read magazine within the multicultural community.
Rolando Rodriguez’s column for RedBrownandBlue.com, “Sincerely, Rolando Rodriguez,” grabs the bull by the horns in a brazen and incendiary style that personifies his fiery, genuine and charismatic personality. Rolando Rodriguez focuses his writing on race commentary, Hispanic politics, Hispanic discrimination and multicultural community concerns, always incorporating unique multicultural perspectives in his work based on his experiences and upbringing as a Latino growing up in the multicultural community of Houston.
Prior to joining RedBrownandBlue.com in a leadership role, Rolando Rodriguez built a name for himself as a longtime communications practitioner devoted to bringing exposure to multicultural community issues. He cut his teeth in the highly energized arena of Washington, DC, where he served as Communications Director for the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute, bringing multicultural community perspectives rooted specifically in Hispanic politics to light in national political forums. In that role, Rolando Rodriguez was charged with accurately capturing and articulating the concerns of the multicultural community at the highest levels of political discourse and policy deliberations.
After acquiring valuable experience in the nation’s capital, Rolando Rodriguez returned to Texas, where he honed his national multicultural community communications skills working at a major Hispanic marketing firm. There, Rolando Rodriguez spearheaded multicultural community advocacy efforts on important multicultural issues such as financial literacy on behalf of major brands including Bank of America and VISA USA. Eventually, Rolando Rodriguez launched and headed his own public relations firm.
In 2007 Rolando Rodriguez took his practice to Interlex Communications, an award-winning cause-related and social advocacy marketing agency where he serves as Managing Director of Public Relations. At Interlex, Rolando Rodriguez has spearheaded numerous campaigns serving the needs of the multicultural community. Rolando Rodriguez’s notable advocacy work on multicultural issues includes campaigns to: boost support for Latino troops and their families, increase access by Latino and Black senior citizens to Medicare services, develop and launch a groundbreaking financial literacy program for Latino immigrants, increase participation of Latina and African American women entrepreneurs in the “Make Mine A Million $ Business” movement, and provide access to free wireless phones and service to eligible low-income families.
